Local Medical Review Policies from Medicare Contractors back to top

HCFA has directed intermediaries and carriers to develop payment policies for services that are not governed by national policy. These policies are called Local Medical Review Policies (LMRP). LMRPs are developed with input from physicians and representatives of the provider and medical community. HCFA has a monthly-updated web site that gathers policies from its contractors. For more frequent updates, as well as draft policies, consult the contractor web sites below directly. Some of these web addresses link directly to the medical policies of a contractor, others link to the contractor home page. If you link to a home page, look for Medical Policies under the Provider heading in the site map.
